The escalation of COVID-19 Coronavirus worldwide has led to further restrictions regarding travels and the hosting of events and congresses by governments and health authorities.

As the news about the COVID-19 outbreak continues to evolve and some major events are being cancelled or postponed, we want to reassure you that preparations for the 16th EUROMAR conference are ongoing.

The safety and health of all those attending is our first priority and we will be reviewing the situation very closely.

We are following the recommendations of the World Health Organization as well as those of the local health authorities and governments.

After a careful assessment of the situation and following the security measures adopted by the Spanish government, the Congress Organising Committee reached the conclusion that the most appropriate solution to ensure the safety and well-being of our community is TO POSTPONE EUROMAR 2020, which is now rescheduled on

6 – 10 December 2020

These dates will allow the Congress to maintain the same scientific format, city and congress center.

This decision aims to minimise the health risks related to the spreading of COVID-19 and to address the increasing inability to travel for speakers and attendees. Considering these implications, we believe that postponing the Congress is the best solution to allow participants to attend safely and maintain the high level of quality of the scientific programme.

This decision has not been made lightly, and we would like to thank you for your understanding and continuous support.

Please be assured that we are taking all the necessary measures to ensure that EUROMAR 2020 retains its status as a highly recognised scientific medical event.

We look forward to welcoming you in Bilbao.

Counting on your support to make EUROMAR 2020 a success, we thank you in advance for your patience.
