Prof. Teresa WM Fan

Center for Environmental and Systems Biochemistry, Markey Cancer Center, Department of Toxicology and Cancer Biology, University of Kentucky.

Her research focuses on applying novel Stable Isotope-Resolved Metabolomic (SIRM) and metabolomics-edited transcriptomic (META) approaches, which we have developed to 1) investigate the anticancer mechanism of natural products and novel therapeutic agents; 2) explore the functional role(s) of tumor microenvironment (TME) and extrinsic environmental factors in cancer development, progression, and therapy; 3) decipher the regulatory networks that govern cancer and immune cell metabolism; and 4) uncover novel therapeutic targets and distinct mechanism-informed biochemical marker patterns for human diseases by interrogating the human metabolome.
