Prof. Vipin Agarwal
Vipin Agarwal is a tenure track assistant professor at the newly established Tata Institute of Fundamental Research campus in Hyderabad, India. He completed his masters in chemical science from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore in 2004, followed by a PhD (2005-2009) in Biophysics in the group of professor Bernd Reif at FMP Berlin. His work mainly focussed on devolving new solid-state NMR methods and applications to study structure and dynamics in perdeuterated biomolecules. Subsequently, he moved to the group of Prof Kentgens at Radboud University, Nijmegen, trying to establish structure property relationship in semicrystalline polymers (2009-2011). Thereafter, he moved to the group of Prof Beat Meier and Prof Matthias Ernst at ETH Zurich for a second postdoc, developing methods for fast MAS.
In may 2015, Vipin started his own group and since has been focussed on developing novel methods such as quantifying proton-proton distances in solids, developing optimization independent heteronuclear decoupling sequences and structural characterization of transient species during fibril formation.
